Statistics released by the Naples Area Board Of Realtors (NABOR) show that year over year home sales slowed for the seventh consecutive month in January. Last month, there were 507 closed sales compared to 562 in January 2010. The median price (half of all sales sold for less and half sold for more) was $156,000 in January, down from $180,000 one year ago. Almost half, 47% of homes sold in the Naples area, were distressed sales, either foreclosures or short sales.
Sales made in January by members of the Realtors Association Of Ft. Myers & The Beach totaled 1,039 in January, a jump of 2% year over year. The median price in Lee County continued to fall, finishing January at $81,000 or $4000 less then the same month one year ago. 66% of all home sales made by the Lee County Realtors Association in January were either foreclosures or short sales. Lee County’s sales numbers do not include sales made by members of the Bonita Springs-Estero Area Board Of Realtors.
