Turner Construction Hertz Corporation has announced that Turner Construction Company has been chosen to build the car rental company’s new world headquarters building in Estero.

The project, slated to be built on the southeast corner of the intersection of U.S. 41 and Williams Rd., is scheduled for completion in 2015.

A Turner spokesman says local subcontractors will have a chance to bid on work for the 300,000 square foot building.

Hertz announced in May that it would relocate its worldwide headquarters to Southwest Florida from northern New Jersey. The company plans to employ 700 workers at the site once the move is fully completed.

Turner Construction Co., founded in 1902 and headquartered in New York City, is one of the largest construction management companies in the U.S. with $9 billion in annual construction volume. It is a subsidiary of the German company Hochtief. Turner has Florida offices in Miami, Tampa and Orlando.
