Realtor Association Of Greater Fort Myers and The BeachThe median price of an existing single-family home in May in Lee County was $195,000, a 10.6-percent increase from $176,333 a year earlier, according to statistics released today by the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach.

There were 1,293 single-family sales in May, up 3 percent from May 2013’s 1,255 and an increase of 8.6 percent from April 2014’s 1,191.

Short sales and foreclosures made up 22.3 percent of single-family sales, while traditional sales made up 77.7 percent in May.

The inventory of single-family homes for sale in May was 5,540, up 6.3 percent from May 2013. May’s inventory was down 262 from April 2014.

Cape Coral led the area with 453 single-family sales in May, although that was down 6.4 percent from May 2013’s 484, according to the report.
