Realtor Association Of Greater Fort Myers and The BeachThere were 965 single-family home sales in Lee County in September, up from 942 a year ago, according to a report by the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and The Beach. An additional 448 condos sold last month, up from 432 a year ago.

Short sales — or sales made for less than what’s owed on the mortgage — dropped 57.6 percent year-over year in September, to 36. Foreclosures declined only slightly, but traditional sales increased by 11 percent.

For single-family homes, the median price — or price at which half the sales are for more and half for less — was $175,000 in September — up 3.9 percent from a year ago. For condos, the median price was $170,500 last month, up 10 percent from a year ago.
