52 Room Hotel Slated For Bonita Beach Rd.
The Bonita Springs City Council has given the preliminary go-ahead to the developer of a 52 room boutique hotel to be built on the north side of Bonita Beach Rd., between Michigan and Wisconsin Streets.
The 4 to 2 vote to approve the project comes on the heels of a decision by the city’s zoning board to reject the proposed hotel.
Developer Mahmoud Gohari, who also owns the .65 acre parcel, scaled down his original plan for a 62 room hotel to alleviate concerns about additional traffic on Bonita Beach Rd..
The proposed development would be three stories high with under-building parking on the ground level.
Pending a traffic study to determine the project’s impact on heavily traveled Bonita Beach Rd., the developer hopes to break ground within the next two years.
