B.E.A.R.-LogoClosed home and condominium sales handled by members of the Bonita Springs-Estero Association of Realtors (B.E.A.R.) increased 17% during May of this year from the same period one year ago.

There were 225 closings during May 2017 compared to 193 in May 2016. B.E.A.R. members predominately serve the Bonita Springs-Estero area in Lee County but also generate some sales in neighboring Collier County. In May of this year, members sold 199 properties in Lee County and 26 in Collier County.

The median closed sale price in the 12 month period ending in May 2017 was $300,000, which is down 2% from the $305,000 median closed sale price for the 12 month period ending in May 2016.

B.E.A.R. members had 1,552 active listings on the Southwest Florida MLS in May, a 12% increase from the same period one year ago. The average listing price (note, this is not median price) in May was $540,000, an increase of 8% from $500,000 in the past 12 months.

It currently takes, on average, 97 days from listing to accepted offer for properties, which is up 39% in the past 12 months from 70 days in May 2016.
